Want an intense at home workout for fat loss? Try bodyweight training! Don’t worry, this isn’t just another article telling you to do pushups, pullups, and bodyweight squats.  You see, the problem with these basic bodyweight exercises is that they only train your body in one motion: up and down.

Instead, try performing exercises that make your body go up, down, back, forward, twist, turn, and move side to side. This twisting and turning is difficult. It makes the workout hard and challenging. The reason I’m telling you to do this is because this what athletes who have built incredible bodies with bodyweight training do.

Basic pushups, pulllups, and squats might work in the beginning, but your body adapts very quickly to these basic movements. However, if you ever see a gymnastics routine, you’ll notice that they twist, turn, and move their bodies in a variety of directions.

Here’s a sample workout using unique movements:

20 rounds of:

  • CST Frogger- 30 seconds
  • Lunge Jump – 30 seconds
  • Swing Split – 30 seconds
With this workout, perform the CST Frogger for 30 seconds, then move straight to the lunge jump. Finish the circuit off with 30 seconds of swing split. Repeat the circuit another 19 times for a total 30 minute workout.
Here is how you perform the exercises:
Lunge Jump

Swing Split

The difficult and unique exercises gymnasts perform are much more difficult to adapt to then the basic bodyweight movements. There is definitely something you can learn from these gymnasts. And that something is this: focus on body control and performance, not fat loss.

So how can you start developing incredibly intense and effective bodyweight workouts at home? You can start by studying how bodyweight athletes such as gymnastics, yogis (people who practice yogi), and dancers move and start incorporating their movements into your regular bodyweight workouts.

Ever since I began training in this manner, my workouts have become incredibly intense and interesting. I actually look forward to my bodyweight workouts. In conclusion, don’t let your bodyweight workouts become stale with the same old boring exercises.

You know what, speaking of unique exercises, there’s a great 3-phase fat loss system called the Bodyweight Blueprint for Fat Loss. Click here to find out more information about this incredible bodyweight fat loss program.
